Excel Dryer has teamed up with Boston Public Schools, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst to support the third annual Green Apple Day of Service. This year’s events take place Saturday, Sept. 27, when we will challenge school administrators to “get caught green handed” by installing high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR® hand dryers to reduce their facilities’ carbon footprint, and teaching their communities about the positive impact they can have on their environments.
Installing XLERATOR® or the new XLERATOReco® hand dryers results in a 95% cost savings versus paper towels, eliminating waste while creating a more hygienic restroom environment. These dryers are GreenSpec Listed, Made in USA Certified® and help in the pursuit of several LEED v4 Credits. When it comes to savings, the schools don’t have to take our word for it – they can calculate their annual savings utilizing Excel Dryer’s customized cost-savings and environmental impact calculator with just four variables:
- The number of cases of paper towels used annually
- The cost per case delivered (including freight and tax)
- The number of towels per case
- The facility KWH rate
Excel Dryer has long been a supporter of improving educational initiatives on a local, national and global scale, and we are proud to be a Green Apple Partner, committing with USGBC to the well-being of students everywhere. In addition to saving money, Boston, LAUSD and UMass will benefit their peers by installing Green Apple XLERATOR® hand dryers. A portion of the proceeds of every Green Apple XLERATOR® hand dryer sold will help fund the Center for Green Schools and its mission to create healthier and more sustainable learning environments for all within this generation.
“Get caught green handed” at your school by installing the greenest hand dryers on the planet, and register a project today for the third annual Green Apple Day of Service.
